This week’s email is short and sweet because there’s lots to do before the Thanksgiving celebrations! Below I have my guide to the BEST pie dough and non-pie dessert options for those of you who want to go a new route this year.

Pie Crust Guide
It’s the perfect time to brush up on your pie crust-making skills! Pie dough is notorious for being a finicky pastry. While it can take time and a good recipe to master your pie dough technique, you shouldn’t fear this beloved dessert, even if you’re worried that you can’t match the flakiness of your grandma’s crust. This guide includes everything you need to know about making pie to give you the confidence to craft the best fruit, cream, meringue, savory, or whatever-your-heart-desires pies.
And don’t forget the essential pie-making equipment! Here are my favorites, in no particular order. All links below are affiliate links:
Food Processor - for quickly making dough
Pie Plate - Essential! ;)
Pastry Blender - if you don’t have a food processor
Rolling Pin - embossed or French or traditional
Last but not least, my workhorse in the kitchen for any and ALL baking is my kitchen scale. I never bake without it!
More Thanksgiving Desserts
This collection of recipes includes a few pies for the occasion, but it also branches out to festive cakes, bars, and even a dessert hot dish (or casserole for everyone outside of MN!). What are your favorite desserts for Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments below!
Thanksgiving Scones
If you need an easy baked good to kick off the festivities, be sure to try one of the many scone recipes and enter this month’s Zoë’s Baking Academy! What I love about these is that you can make the dough the day before, and then bake it when you want them fresh the next day! Details, recipes, and more can be found here:
It’s the basque cheesecake for me. 🤌😘
Your photos or so gorgeous that I locked my Mac's screen. Thank you for sharing and inspiring. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
