A Q&A with the queen of "Easy Peasy," Jessie Sheehan!
I met Jessie Sheehan several years ago when we sat on a baking panel together. She’s a force of nature and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. The energy and excitement she exudes are reflected in her baking, her books, and her fun TikTok videos.
Jessie and I became fast friends and we’ve had many opportunities to visit and discuss our philosophy of baking. Her recipes and the way she approaches baking are in many ways diametrically opposite to mine. She is the queen of “Easy Peasy” baking and uses as few ingredients, pieces of equipment, and seeks out the simplest techniques she can, without sacrificing a bit of flavor! I, on the other hand, am mad in love with the process and all the equipment! ;) We come at it in different ways, but at the end of the day, we both strive for tasty food. I have baked several things from Jessie’s new book (as well as her book The Vintage Baker*) and they are ALL truly easy, fast and absolutely delicious.
