YouTube Live Fundraiser for World Central Kitchen & a $25,000 match!
In case you missed it, I am raising money for World Central Kitchen with a YouTube LIVE Pizza class this Saturday! And there is a MATCH on offer for your donations!
This event is open to everyone, but I suggest a $25 donation (or more if you can swing it) to attend. BIG NEWS: My friend and local MN businesswoman, Shannon Klingman, will match your donations up to $25,000. This is a HUGE opportunity to make our dollars go even further to support the incredible work of World Central Kitchen. They are serving meals to people in need after the disastrous fires struck in LA, the floods in NC, storms in FL, TX, PR, and other disaster areas all over the world. This work costs money, so the money you and I raise can help fund the efforts! Let’s meet and exceed Shannon’s challenge! You can donate now, even if you can’t make it to the event. You’ll find the “Donate” button on YouTube, just below the chat. Otherwise, you can donate during the event. Thank you!
The Details and Recipes:
Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET on YouTube.
You can go to the event page now and click the bell icon for reminders about the event. I will be using my EASY HOMEMADE PIZZA DOUGH (featuring 00 flour), in case you’d like to bake along with me. My friend Peter Campbell from Red Wagon Pizza Co., will be bringing a portable pizza oven to my kitchen to bake the pizzas. I will also show you how to get a great bake in my home oven. See you there!
Stars of the Future Event in Minneapolis for Kids
If you are in Minneapolis, I would love for you to join me in supporting kids who will be the next generation of chefs, bakers, and food professionals at this Hospitality Minnesota event on January 22 from 6-9 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Minneapolis. I will be talking with my friend Jason DeRusha about my experience in middle school Home Ec class that changed the course of my life.
Not all kids thrive in standard academics—I was one! Providing a way for creative types to excel in school is essential but underfunded by the education system. Please come and help us give these kids a place to grow their potential, confidence, and career skills!
Richard Hart Bread Giveaway!
Did you see the amazing Roman-Style Pizza I posted on Saturday? The author, Richard Hart, has generously offered to do a cookbook giveaway! This one is open to international followers as well. Leave a comment below with your favorite kind of pizza by Sunday, January 19 at 11:59 p.m. and we’ll randomly draw a winner next week and send them a copy of Richard Hart Bread!
White pizza with wild mushrooms, garlic, and four cheeses!
I love a good Thai style pizza with peanut sauce, lots of veggies and maybe chicken or shrimp.
