Recipes from Zoë Bakes Season 3
Season 3 is here on Magnolia Network! This season features some of my favorite episodes, with stops at some wonderful local bakeries and farms and conversations with amazing chefs. You can watch every Sunday at 1pm ET/ noon CT on the Magnolia Network! Or stream seasons 1-3 on discovery+, (HBO) Max and the Magnolia | Time Well Spent app. Here are recipes from the most recent episodes:
No-Churn Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
This is my ice cream of the summer! The no-churn base is from my friend Sarah Kieffer’s recipe, and is fast and easy to make. Fresh mint elevates the flavor of a classic chocolate chip mint pairing. In a cone, this is a treat that absolutely screams “summer favorite.”
Red Velvet Cherry Cake
I made this stunning red velvet chocolate cake for my stepmother’s birthday. It is her all-time favorite cake variety, so a two-tiered version was perfect for the special occasion. The candied cherries add a tart/sweet adornment and make for an even more stunning display.
Most Popular July Recipe: Blueberries
It’s blueberry season, so why wouldn’t these recipes be number 1? Hunting down fresh blueberries is synonymous with hot, mid-summer weather, so find your favorite berry patch and make some of these recipes before the season passes us by! If you’ve tried any of these recipes, would you be so kind as to leave me a rating and review?
Barbie Cake On Eater
Everyone’s talking about Barbie! Barbie cakes are synonymous with kids birthday parties, but the new movie has reinvented the timeless doll. Last year I made this Barbie cake for friend chef Ann Kim’s birthday and the cake was recently featured on Eater. This was a super fun project and I hope you enjoy reading about it!
Icebox Cake On NPR
NPR recently did a story on Icebox cakes and the end of Nabisco’s famous chocolate wafers. It’s a fun look at the history of the cake, with a little nostalgia and mourning the loss of a classic cookie. But I’ve made my own cake that features a homemade chocolate wafer that is close to the original, and it was featured in this story. Check it out and try the cake for yourself!
Llama Cake on Good Morning America!
I was part of a fun segment on Good Morning America featuring kids activities in the Twin Cities! I made a llama cake for a birthday party, and you’ll see it make an appearance in the video. The funfetti cake and American buttercream recipes can be found in Zoë Bakes Cakes and I adorned it with sugar cookies!
