About Zoë François
I grew up in communes and even went to Woodstock in 1969, granted, I was two years old. But those hippies made an impression, some good (granola and carrot cake), and some things were better left in the 60s. I studied fine art at the University of Vermont while also founding a cookie company as a way to earn extra money. Little did I know those cookies would set the course of my life. I eventually went to the Culinary Institute of America in New York to hone my pastry skills. Since then, I have been a pastry chef at several Twin Cities restaurants, written TEN cookbooks, including the New York Times Bestseller, Zoë Bakes Cookies. I host a TV show, which you can stream on MAX, called Zoë Bakes, which resulted in an Emmy Nomination for best host, and here, on Substack, I dive deep into all the things I love most: baking, travel, and my life. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Sometimes it can get wild.
