The Salt Cure
A way to support Minnesota restaurants right now!
The Salt Cure
The wonderful Twin Cities food community desperately needs support. Time and time again our restaurants step forward to help feed the community in times of crises, with is exactly what they have been doing over the past several weeks. It’s our turn to step up for them. Many of the restaurants are within ONE or TWO PAYROLLS from having to close their doors permanently. Because of the recent crisis in Minneapolis, some our favorite spots are on the verge of disappearing—particularly the immigrant-owned and -run businesses that give Minnesota its unique flavor.
The restaurants and the people who work in them are the heart and soul of our city. Even if you are not local, you’ll recognize them from my show, Zoë Bakes. These are amongst the very restaurants that need our help right now. We won’t have a vibrant city without them and that concept makes me incredibly sad.
How Can You Help?
My friend, Stephanie March, has launched The Salt Cure Restaurant Recovery Fund to help deliver desperately needed money to the restaurants.
In partnership with The Minneapolis Foundation, The Salt Cure Fund awards emergency grants to help restaurants cover their most basic needs such as payroll and lease payments. This will be the lifeline to keep them open.
PLEASE DONATE, any amount helps! Make a contribution and learn more about the foundation here:
Thank you for your continued kindness while our community goes through a stressful period. Your messages of love and support mean everything to me. xo Zoë

The immigrant-owned restaurant point really stood out to me. Those places don't just feed us, they create cultural bridges and make comunities more vibrant. I've watched similar businesses in my area dissappear when they didn't get support in time. Really hope this fund can help keep these essential spots alive during the tough weeks ahead.
Why wasn't this done during covid in MN when so many lost their businesses? Serious question.
