What To Bake This Weekend

It’s Fourth of July weekend so of course I have to share my Red, White and Blue desserts one more time. The Baked Alaska is a must-try!
This blueberry cheesecake is another recipe from the Fourth of July list, and with blueberry season coming up it’s time to start thinking about blueberry recipes.
Or try one of my hot weather favorites: Sorbet! This recipe is a how-to guide so you can flavor your sorbet however you want. Here is my list of best machines for churning ice cream and sorbet.

Come with me to Italy!
I am moving to Italy. Not today, probably not for a while, but that’s my new life goal. I fell completely in love with the country this past spring while I was hosting two culinary tours with Via Rosa, one in Sicily and the other in Puglia*. The trips they curated for me surpassed all of my wildest dreams. The history, culture, art, architecture, food and people were so beautiful, poetic, soulful and above all, fun! We ate gelato, granita, pastries, and rolled pasta, made flatbreads from freshly milled wheat and laughed. So much joy! We sipped olive oil and poured it over everything, because it is crazy delicious. Not only did we eat all of these things, we met the people who make them, grow the ingredients and have had these foods in their family culture for centuries. Everything about my time in Italy makes me long to be there again. Which leads me to my BIG news…
I’m going back to host two more Via Rosa tours in the spring of 2026 and I’d love for you to join me! I’ll be returning to Sicily to visit the local friends I made there and eat the foods I came to love so much. And, I will also be exploring Parma, a part of northern Italy I’ve never visited before. I can hardly wait to eat my way through the region with you!
I would love for you to come along on either (or both) of the trips. You too will fall under the spell of Italy and likely want to move there with me. ;) I feel so lucky to have explored Italy with the most joyful and curious groups, who became fast friends. Food lovers are the greatest people on earth!

We keep the tours intimate, so there are only 12 people on each trip. They fill up quickly, so if you want to eat your way around Sicily and/or Parma with me, I hope you’ll snag a spot.

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be sharing more about my last Italy trip, from packing essentials, things I learned (some the hard way), must-see spots and more with my paid “Extras” subscribers. Be sure to upgrade if you’d like the travel guides!
YUM alert!!
You're going to have so much fun in Italy next year!!! So excited to work with you on this!!
